The scholarship targets leaders and entrepreneurs across the private, public and non-profit sectors who seek to make a positive impact on society through their academic and practical contributions to the field.

The LSE Marshall Institute has opened applications to its scholarship scheme for outstanding candidates applying to study the Executive MSc Social Business and Entrepreneurship (EMSBE) programme.

The scholarship targets leaders and entrepreneurs across the private, public and non-profit sectors who seek to make a positive impact on society through their academic and practical contributions to the field.

Dr Jonathan Roberts, Teaching Director at the Marshall Institute, said: “Our ground-breaking Executive Master’s goes beyond traditional business degrees by putting social purpose at the heart of business education, so it’s important that we make this opportunity accessible to those that would otherwise miss out on such a transformational, cutting-edge and impactful programme.”

The EMSBE programme is aimed at students who wish to combine entrepreneurialism and business rigour with a commitment to public benefit and those who want to bring a social focus to business.

Three full awards of £35,317 are available to cover tuition fees for 2024 entry for outstanding candidates. Partial awards are also available on a discretionary basis.

Candidates from emerging markets or those from the third sector, the public sector, and social enterprises are encouraged to apply, and one award will be dedicated to a candidate working at the forefront of an impact-first organisation that has previously applied for the 100x Impact Accelerator Programme.

Dr Roberts added: “We are committed to investing in exceptional thinkers and outstanding practitioners who will go on to serve society and change the world for good, regardless of their personal or financial situation.”

Frances Udukwu, one of the previous scholarship recipients, said: “The programme helped me connect the dots on how to integrate core business skills with social impact. The scholarship scheme has not only helped curb cost, but it also serves as a reminder that there are opportunities to develop my skills, knowledge and confidence to contribute to the betterment of society, which has been my long-seated desire.”

The application deadline is Monday 29 April 2024 23:59 UK, with scholarship recipients expected to be announced by the end of May.
