100x Impact Accelerator, a leading social impact accelerator based at LSE’s Marshall Institute, has today announced seven high-impact social ventures that will be part of its 2024 Cohort. The latest cohort comprises diverse social ventures from across the world—Chile to Nigeria, USA to India—driving impact in education, climate and environment, health, refugees and migration, and democracy.

Selected ventures include Peepul, an education non-profit that develops and rolls out teaching approaches to improve student engagement and learning outcomes in India’s public schools; Reap Benefit, a non-profit empowering young people to become problem-solvers for civic and environmental issues in their communities; RightWalk Foundation, a social impact organisation shaping and implementing public policies and programmes that ensure equitable access to quality education, healthcare, and poverty alleviation; Tarjimly, an AI-powered platform that instantly connects refugees, migrants and the organisations that serve them with high-quality translation to break down barriers to integration, and The School of Politics, Policy, and Governance (SPPG), a Nigerian-based non-profit building a new generation of political leaders in Africa.

"We are privileged to support some of the world’s best social entrepreneurs who are innovatively taking on the biggest issues of our time. We cannot wait to propel their impact through 100x’s scaling programme.”

The cohort also includes two of 100x’s first-ever Latin American ventures. Recylink , a Chilean commercial venture revolutionising the recycling industry by leveraging technology to enhance waste management processes, and ImpulsoGov, a pioneering Brazilian venture using smart data and technology to improve healthcare prevention work in one of the largest healthcare systems in the world.

Fan Gu, the Deputy Director of 100x Impact Accelerator, said: “It is yet another milestone to share such high-calibre social ventures in our cohort. We are privileged to support some of the world’s best social entrepreneurs who are innovatively taking on the biggest issues of our time. We cannot wait to propel their impact through 100x’s scaling programme.”

With this latest cohort, 100x’s portfolio of future social unicorns now includes 19 ventures which have received close to £3 million in funding support since late 2022.

“Organisations seeking to address social challenges should have access to the very best financial, intellectual, and network support to scale their impact. Over the last two years, we have provided LSE’s world-class resources to these ventures that are leading innovation in their impact across the world,” Fan added.

In addition to participating in 100x’s bespoke programme, each venture will receive £150,000 in funding, with an opportunity for potential future follow-on funding from LSE’s partners.

Nicolas Behar, the CEO and co-founder of Recylink, said: “We are thrilled to be selected for this global programme. Being the first Chilean venture on the programme is a significant recognition of our work towards a clean and circular world. Having a partner like 100x is simply going to skyrocket our impact to unimaginable levels.”

The programme for this cohort will commence in September 2024, starting with in-person sessions at the LSE, followed by 10 weeks of virtual programming and expert advisory. This will culminate in 100x’s flagship Summit Day at the LSE in November when ventures will showcase their solutions and successes to a network of impact-first funders, experts, policy advisers, and the media.
